Visionary Profile:
J Schwan believes organizations should approach innovation through the lens of implementing ideas and enabling positive impact to the business.
Fostering an innovation culture starts from the top. An antiquated CEO will suppress a company’s ingenuity and novelty, denying it of the resources and tools that lead to creative success. At Solstice Mobile, an enterprise innovation and mobility solutions firm, CEO J Schwan’s mission is to enable innovation that leads to greater organizational success and overall profits. J has helped enterprises understand and embrace disruptive technologies for over 15 years, spending the last five years focused on enterprise mobility.
Solstice Mobile assists organizations in embracing mobility in their enterprise environments, so J Schwan understands the value of delivering innovative solutions. To accomplish this, innovation has to start from within the organization. This is practiced daily through every facet of the office. Each time a new technology is introduced to the market, Solstice employees are encouraged to test it out to see how it can enable more productivity or creativity, either internally or for one of the company’s two dozen Fortune 500 clients.
From this attitude, the Solstice Smart Office was born. The Solstice Smart Office serves as an incubator for the technologies and processes that Solstice can enable for clients to improve enterprise efficiency.
When designing the Smart Office, J had a two-fold mission: to increase workplace productivity and to enhance the guest experience for clients and visitors. User experience is optimized by enabling a set of contextual features that offer tech-savvy processes such as:
— Contextual QR Code scans around the office to trigger reorder requests for printer paper, paper towels, office supplies, food, beverages and more
— Presence-awareness to optimize the scheduling and use of shared resources, such as conference rooms and A/V tools
— Contextual computing strategies to support the automated sharing of content from white boards
— Predictive and contextual strategies to improve the experience of office visitors for activities like transportation to and from the office, meeting coordination, content-sharing, etc.
— Natural-user interfaces and body motion sensors to allow for 3D gesture control of any video streamed apps
J Schwan’s mission is to usher enterprises into the era of contextual computing. He believes organizations should approach innovation through the lens of implementing ideas and enabling positive impact to the business. The executive team should find ways to leverage existing assets and strategies to accelerate outcome-driven innovation. J Schwan aligns the innovation culture of the organization with all the resources that help drive engagement, foster commitment and best identify priorities and metrics.
