Visionary Profile BlackBerry’s Peter Devenyi:
The smartphone market remains highly competitive, and BlackBerry understands that we do not stand alone in the enterprise marketplace. BlackBerry embraces the BYOD movement and we’ve created Secure Work Space to address the needs of IT managers who are in search of a solution that supports and secures iOS and Android devices in an enterprise environment.
BlackBerry’s Peter Devenyi, Senior Vice President, Enterprise Software, is a driving force behind this BYOD movement, and has successfully lead a team of talented BlackBerry engineers and innovators to unlocking the benefits of enterprise mobility management (EMM). The EMM market is growing at an extraordinary rate – keeping it extremely competitive and dynamic. Pete and his team developed BlackBerry Enterprise Service 10 (BES 10) which allows the world’s top enterprises to take advantage of a complete, end-to-end platform for corporate-owned and BYOD environments. As the most widely deployed mobility solution in enterprises today, BES10 offers a truly compelling device management, application management and security solution for customers managing BlackBerry, iOS and Android devices.
While BES 10 helps IT managers lower the total cost of ownership for enterprise mobility, it also represents a key element of the strategic cross platform direction that BlackBerry is taking.
BlackBerry has been working with enterprise customers for more than a decade to help them work better and more efficiently by allowing employees to use mobile devices for email and other communications. The BlackBerry security model is the only model in the industry that encompasses hardware, manufacturing (supply chain), software, service authentication, VPN and behind the firewall management into a single solution. BlackBerry includes a proven (15+ years) VPN that is built for mobile and has seamless integration across the work perimeter.
As Senior Vice President, Enterprise Software, at BlackBerry, Pete Devenyi is responsible for all Research and Development activities associated with BlackBerry’s enterprise portfolio of software solutions. Before joining BlackBerry in 2005, Pete held executive positions in Research and Development at BCE Emergis, ProCure.com and the Descartes Systems Group. Prior to this, he spent 10 years at the IBM Toronto Laboratory in a variety of development and management capacities.
Pete holds a Bachelor’s degree and a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of Toronto.
