Looking for another puzzle or action game for Android or iPhone? Check out OctoColors, a new 3-D action-puzzle game from Brazil indie game studio Bad Minions. In OctoColors, you defend an underwater city against attacks from a giant Octopus, who throws colorful bricks of petrified ink against the glass barrier protecting the city.
That’s the action part. For the puzzle part of the game, you have to mix colors and combine bricks, while you attack the Octopus at the same time. In each level of the game you wage a new battle against the Octopus, and as the difficulty increases, the peaceful music gets more urgent–kind of like Carmina Burana, but for octopi.
Before the game begins, you can choose from among 18 skills in order to create a personal strategy, and during the game, you might also receive temporary special powers. You also have six pets that help you with coins and unique skills based on how friendly you are with them. But the Octopus has its own tricks up its (eight) sleeves–unpredictable special attacks like ink bombs, the “rage attack,” and “Octopnosis.”
But OctoColors isn’t just about gaming–you can collect more than 100 stickers that teach you about sea creatures–in case you decide to become a marine biologist, or maybe just adopt a goldfish or try more sushi.
OctoColors is available now in the Apple App Store and Google Play as a free download. Before you take the plunge, check out the promo video below:
