Fujitsu this summer has updated the look and specs of its Lifebook E Series family of business-focused notebook computers.  The updated E Series now comes with a silver solid magnesium lid with red accents, and is available in three sizes: the 13.3-inch E733, 14-inch E743, and 15.6-inch E753.

Because the notebooks were announced too early for Intel’s new Haswell processor line they’re still running on Intel’s Ivy Bridge processors, although of the more recent 2.6GHz Core i5 variety.  If you want more power under your hood, you can opt for a Core i7, and up to 16GB of RAM.

Each of the newest E Series notebooks comes with a bigger 500GB hybrid hard drive, and Fujitsu’s signature modular bay that is capable of hosting a second battery, a second hard disk drive, an optical drive or a weight saver module for lighter traveling weight.  You can also choose an optional backlit keyboard.

All three notebooks support Intel Rapid Start Technology, have integrated optional Smart Card readers for security, interfaces with WLAN and Bluetooth, and a full HD webcam with status LED.  For the operating system, you can choose Windows 7 Professional or Windows 8 Pro.

The Fujitsu Lifebook E Series notebooks are available at stores now, starting at US $899.
