Like Flappy Bird and “Game of Thrones”? Then the new iPhone game and iPad game “Flappy Dragons: Quest of the Fire Bird” is for you. The newest Flappy Bird spin-off app parodies not only that modern cult classic game, but also the hit TV drama “Game of Thrones.” The goal is to fly your dragon across Westeros and help Daenerys take back the seven kingdoms.
Developed by Brandon Abbott’s Red Wagon Apps studio, Flappy Dragons is not to be confused with the singular Flappy Dragon game for iOS or with the several different Flappy Dragons games for Android.
Your dragon in the Game of Thrones Flappy Dragons flies between towers of varying heights across four kingdoms, including Essos, Westeros, and the Wall. Along the way, you unlock new dragons and swords — the most powerful of which is the Valyrian steel sword.
You can link Flappy Dragons to your Facebook and/or Twitter account for automatic posts or tweets of your achievements and scores. You can download Flappy Dragons for iOS for free from the Apple App Store.
Update: In related news, the original Flappy Bird creator Dong Nguyen says he’ll bring back the game this August after pulling it from Google Play and Apple’s App Store in February. Nguyen’s reason for pulling the game was his feelings of stress from his new fame, as well as guilt over creating a game so addictive that it made some players ignore their kids or even lose their jobs. After the game was pulled, app stores filled with dozens of Flappy Bird imitations and parodies. If imitation is truly the highest form of flattery, then Nguyen should be flapping his wings with pride.
