If you’ve played word puzzle games, you know how fun they are for passing time. Word puzzles can also improve your creative thinking, and grow your vocabulary. Now there’s an addictive, free new word game for Android and iPhone / iPad called Equii — and you can play it with friends, or just to challenge yourself.

What sets Equii apart from similar word games is that Equii is designed to be more competitive, and you can create word puzzles to stump your friends. If you choose multiplayer mode, you can play with friends or family anywhere.
When you play the puzzle game with friends, you compete to combine pictures to form a word: one easy example are pictures for “rain” and “bow” to form the word rainbow.
But just like rainbows, Equii’s word puzzles can be brilliant and vary in difficulty. The word puzzles can combine any number of multiple pictures, from which you can add or subtract letters, or even choose word opposites or past tenses.
Not just a word game — but a learning game
For teachers and parents, Equii can be used in literacy and spelling activities. The word game is certified by the Educational App Store team, who note that Equii can help with critical thinking and problem solving. They rated Equii with a score of 90 and an overall 5-star rating for cognitive development in kids 11 to 14 years old.

Another unique thing about Equii is that its trio of creators were all teenagers at the time of the game’s development. Today the founders promote and support the word puzzle game through their Las Vegas based app development company, Triora Technologies.
