A new iOS and Android hospital patient app suite called EASE (Electronic Access to Surgical Events) aims to make it easier for doctors and nurses to deliver medical care updates to patients’ loved ones.

The first of the two apps, EASE MD, allows clinicians to send patient care updates, and includes pre-written texts in nine languages for when physicians are short on time. The family and patient app, EASE, lets patients and their families receive the updates and complete satisfaction surveys.

Setting up the app also aims to be easy: first, the patient or loved one registers the app on the patient’s device. Then, the clinician scans the patient’s device and medical bracelet. The EASE app suite is HIPAA compliant.
