Autodesk 123D Catch– a free 3D image capture app for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch– is now out in version 2.0. The update is compatible with iOS 7 and adds a guided capture feature that aims to make it even easier for you to capture and upload photos that you want to turn into three-dimensional images.
The updated Photo Compass feature also allows for flashes stabilization and low light/under exposed warnings to help you get the best capture possible.
As with earlier versions of 123D Catch, version 2.0 uploads your selected photos to “the cloud” and then after a short wait, returns them to you as 3D images. You can then share your favorite images with other users, like others’ images, and follow other artists.
The app also gives you the option to order 3D printable models.
Specific new features added to 123D Catch 2.0 include:
— New guided capture, Photo Compass, helps you shoot the perfect photos for your capture.
— More detailed “photo-realistic” 3D models.
— An updated, fast-streaming gallery that lets you browse captures without waiting for downloading.
— An easier way to share, comment, like, and follow other users and their captures in the Gallery with the tap of a finger.
You can download 123D Catch for free from Apple’s App Store.
