Certified Container Registries ensure secure container images, enhancing developer productivity
CAMPBELL, Calif.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–#container–Mirantis, the open cloud company, today announced it has joined the Docker Verified Publisher program, and announced the availability of Docker Official Images for Mirantis Secure Registry.
“Secure software supply chains are becoming increasingly important to development teams as they work to lower the risk of exposure to malicious content while they build applications,” said Adam Parco, CTO, Mirantis. “Using reliable content at every stage ensures applications are secure and minimizes time and money spent on resolving security issues.”
To enable the storage, management, sharing, and deployment of container images and artifacts anywhere, Mirantis Secure Registry users can now access images from Docker Hub through their private secure registry. This new integration offers developers the ultimate flexibility; rather than having to switch between their local private registry for owned images and Docker Hub for Docker Official images, developers can now choose trusted, verified images from their registry of choice.
“By bringing more trusted content to more registries, the 13.4 million developers using Docker can quickly discover and incorporate reliable building blocks for their applications,” said Docker Vice President of Products Donnie Berkholz. “With the availability of Docker Official Images in Mirantis Secure Registry and Mirantis as a Docker Verified Publisher, developers have easy access to trusted container images across all the environments where they get their work done.”
The Docker Verified Publisher program extends trust to commercial content, incorporating enterprise solutions that are part of the application delivery pipeline and providing identifiable images that have been property vetted. With the Docker Verified Publisher program developers can build, share and run applications quickly with confidence knowing that each component is secure at every stage of the software supply chain. Docker Official Images include more than 160 of the most widely used OSS components which are downloaded billions of times per month.
