Latest dark theme and ingredient-first calculator demonstrate Smart Cooker’s ability to get smarter just by sitting on the kitchen counter, elevating the home cooking experience

MAHWAH, N.J.–(BUSINESS WIRE)–Smart appliance and technology company, CHEF iQ, announced the release of its app version 2.0, including dark theme and ingredient-first calculator features to its Smart Cooker – the only affordable smart multi-cooker and app combination on the market. The new updates will be delivered over the air beginning on Thanksgiving Day through the weekend.

“We’re constantly listening and evaluating how home chefs are using our multi-cooker because we want to make impactful updates that address real customer pain points,” said Rene Midouin, VP of Software Development, CHEF iQ. “We’ve removed the frustrating guesswork that often results in disappointing meals, and these new features are part of our commitment to helping users of all experience levels create a restaurant-quality meal, every single time they use their Smart Cooker.”

The new CHEF iQ features include:

  • Ingredient-First Calculator: Solves the common pain point of not knowing what to make with the food in the fridge. Input the ingredients and CHEF iQ suggests the cooking temperature, method, and duration.
  • Dark Theme: Provides optimal visual comfort and meets the needs of accessibility design – important for visually-impaired users.

Since its March 2020 launch, over-the-air bi-weekly updates to the Smart Cooker have simplified home cooking while delivering a 70% faster meal preparation time. The new Ingredient-First Calculator complements the Smart Cooker’s built-in scale, which measures ingredients and cooks them by weight, streamlining both prep and cleanup with no measuring cups required.

The CHEF iQ Smart Cooker and app allow home chefs the flexibility to use both manual and remote functions to control and monitor the cooking process. The app also includes a growing inventory of Guided Cooking recipes, developed and tested by a team of culinary experts, to meet a wide variety of dietary preferences.

“The connected kitchen isn’t just about the bells and whistles – a lot of companies alienate customers with big price tags and features simply for the sake of innovation,” said Ralph Newhouse, CEO, CHEF iQ. “Our focus is on the experience of cooking and elevating it through technology. We want users to feel confident in knowing their risotto will turn out delicious and the same every time.”
