Cape Coral, FL, March 2009 -- Love or hate it, we can't deny that Apple's iPhone has changed the mobile technology world through its unprecedented hype and popularity. Just two year after its launch, there are dozens of touchscreen phone competitors and tens of thousands of iPhone-friendly applications. With these and thousands of other mobile products and services now competing for our attentions and wallets, how do we know which are worthwhile? That's the aim of the 2009 Mobile Star Awards, organized for the eighth straight year by MobileVillage®. As in previous years, this year's awards program will showcase hundreds of entrants in dozens of "best of" categories, including smart phones, notebooks, software, wireless network products, mobile enterprise success stories, and mobile industry visionaries. Mobile Star Awards winners are chosen by the thousands of mobile-savvy subscribers of Go Mobile® -- MobileVillage's free, bimonthly e-newsletter that compiles the top mobile technology stories from around the Web. "Mobile professionals and IT managers face a daunting task in finding the best products, partner companies, and success stories," notes Gary Thayer, MobileVillage's editor and awards program coordinator. "Thanks to the Mobile Star Awards and Go Mobile readers, it's easy for people to see the products and success stories that stand above the rest." Mobile Star Awards entrants benefit as well. "Entrants gain recognition for their products, services, leaders, or success stories that might otherwise go unrecognized," says Jon Covington, MobileVillage founder and president. "The awards program's accessibility and voting structure are designed to put well-known companies and newcomers on a level playing field." In addition to gaining recognition and potential new customers, each Mobile Star Awards entrant receives the Mobile Star Awards Nominee logo, and is featured on the MobileVillage web site and in Go Mobile. Winners also receive a winner's logo. The 2008 Mobile Star
Awards winners are listed on MobileVillage.com,
and this year's entrants will be posted as they are received. Voting will
begin after this summer, and winners will be announced this fall. For
